XMOS announced the launch of XCORE-200, a multi-core MCU family supporting Gigabit Ethernet. These devices integrate 16 32-bit RISC cores and are said to be the first 10/100/1000 Ethernet solutions to provide a programmable MAC layer and Web server support.
"This generation of xCORE-200 products has twice the performance of the first generation of xCORE devices and has four times the amount of on-chip memory," said Mark Lippett, general manager of the xCORE business unit.
"The flexible Gigabit Ethernet ports, plus the programmable XMOS USB 2.0 interface and 2Mbyte flash memory, mean these devices are suitable for high-performance consumer and professional applications as well as emerging IoT applications."
XCORE-200-based XMOS also introduced its new xCORE-AUDIO processor family. The xCORE-AUDIO processor is designed to provide perfect audio through rich audiophiles and professional interfaces, and is designed to meet the needs of high-resolution consumers. Audio and complex multi-channel professional audio applications.
There are two product lines: xCORE-AUDIO Hi-Res, emerging markets for stereo high-resolution USB headphone amplifiers, DAC and AVR systems, and xCORE-AUDIO Live, whose support includes DJ kits, mixing, audio content creation and conferences Including professional audio applications.
The first xCORE-AUDIO Live products will be available in April 2015.
