Würth Electronics presents new EDLC supercapacitors (Electrical Double Layer Capacitors) with snap-in terminals. Available in 100 F and 350 F capacities, the WCAP-SISC series is the perfect solution for high power and high energy demands such as UPS and energy storage products. They can be used in smart metering instruments, networking equipment, energy harvesting, and more, and are rated up to 75 A.
The much higher energy density than conventional capacitors makes the electric double-layer supercapacitor WCAP-SISC an environmentally friendly alternative to batteries. Compared to lithium-ion batteries, supercapacitors with activated carbon technology offer numerous advantages, such as fast charging, extremely long life with 500,000 charge-discharge cycles, and a lower risk of fire. The WCAP-SISC capacitors are 10 / +30 % tolerant, 2.7 V rated, and -40°C to +65°C operating temperature.
