Vishay - Low-profile high-current power inductors can increase efficiency in portables

Vishay has expanded its IHHP series of thin, high-current power inductors with two new devices in a compact 1212 case measuring 3mm x 3mm. The IHHP-1212ZH-01 and IHHP-1212AZ-01 provide a wide inductance range of 0.33µH to 10µH and low profile sizes of 0.8mm and 1mm, respectively, designed to save space and improve the efficiency of portable electronic products. The device is optimized for DC-DC converters and power modules for laptops, tablets and other handheld battery-powered electronics. Magnetic alloy power inductors have low acoustic noise and provide magnetic shielding to prevent interference with nearby components. IHHP-1212ZH-01 and IHHP-1212AZ-01 have a maximum DCR as low as 23mohm, a high saturation current of up to 6.5A and a rated thermal current of up to 6.0A. These devices have an operating temperature range of -55C to + 125C and are available in RoHS-compliant 100% lead-free (Pb) shielded packaging.
