New Yorker electronics has recently provided exxelia MML thin film capacitors. The company calls this product a breakthrough technology, which can significantly reduce size and weight due to its high energy density. According to the company, the new MML line provides an unparalleled energy density of 400j / dm3. Compared with the traditional polypropylene or polyester medium, its size and weight are greatly reduced, its working temperature can reach 140 ℃, and it has the function of transient voltage protection.

Capacitors, therefore, provide considerable flexibility in design and easily allow low profile configurations. Several studies have been conducted on practical cases of control and DC links functions for aircraft applications. Compared with other film technologies, their size and weight are reduced by 50%. Compared with MLCC, the situation is more optimistic. It shows a weight drop between 70% and 90%, without capacitor derating, applied voltage and low drift & lt; 5% temperature range. Applications using stacked MLCC clusters can now be replaced by a single MML unit of similar size, and thin-film media provides higher reliability.
