The TPS3809 series monitoring circuit provides circuit initialization and timing monitoring for dsp and processor-based systems. The supply voltage of the product is 2.5V, 3v, 3.3V and 5v. The circuit uses 3-pin SOT-23. The TPS3809 device features an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.

Typical Application

Newer TLV809E devices are alternative products with the same pins, functions, and electrical parameters. During the power-on process, when the power supply voltage VDD exceeds 1.1 V, the system resets. Thereafter, the monitoring circuit monitors the VDD and keeps RESET active as long as the VDD remains below the threshold voltage VIT. The internal timer delays the output back to the inactive state (high) to ensure proper system reset. The delay time td(typ) = 200 ms, starting after VDD rises above the threshold voltage VIT.

Timing Diagram

When the supply voltage drops below the threshold voltage VIT, the output becomes active (low) again. No external components are required. All devices in the series have a fixed induction threshold voltage, VIT, set by an internal voltage divider.
