As the first member of ST's new STi2Fuse family with integrated I2-t protection, the VNF1048F is compatible with 12V, 24V and 48V automotive power systems (board nets), making it ideal for designing the latest energy efficiency and reliability A more flexible automotive area electronic/electric (E/E) architecture, while meeting the higher electrification and functional requirements of intelligent driving.

VNF1048F is feature-rich and highly adaptive. It is equipped with a serial peripheral interface (SPI) that can connect to the main microcontroller, configure and monitor system protection and diagnostic functions, including under-voltage protection, over-temperature protection, and external high-side MOSFET thermal protection , desaturation shutdown and I2-t fusing settings. The product has built-in high-accuracy digital current measurement capabilities and an integrated analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for monitoring temperature-sensitive thermistor voltage, output voltage, and drain-to-source voltage.

ST's I2-t fusing is a core feature of the STi2Fuse product family, which implements fast-response, repeatable, and reliable overcurrent protection. Silicon fuses eliminate the need for user-accessible fuse boxes and associated wiring and installation costs, helping to simplify automotive wiring harness routing and reduce cable weight. Lightweight vehicles can help improve vehicle performance, extend cruising range and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

         The VNF1048FTR is in production now in a QFN 32L 5mm x 5mm 32-pin package.
