The Renesas RZ/N2L MPU is a high-performance ASSP featuring an Arm Cortex-R52 processor with floating point unit (FPU), NEON™ and 1.5 MB of on-chip SRAM. This is an Industrial Ethernet LSI that enables Industrial Ethernet communication. It features a parallel host interface and a serial host interface to connect to an external CPU for easy adoption in existing systems. The RZ/N2L supports various Industrial Ethernet and Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) standards, has an Arm Cortex-R52 up to 400 MHz, and tightly coupled memory (256 KB) directly connected to the CPU.
The RZ/N2L features a three-port Gigabit Ethernet switch that supports the next-generation networking standard TSN and major industrial Ethernet protocols such as EtherCAT, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP™. Since the RZ/N2L interfaces with an external CPU, it can be easily connected to existing systems. The main CPU can directly access the internal memory in the RZ/N2L. The RZ/N2L features an Event Link Controller (ELC) to run peripheral functions without CPU processing support. This enables low-latency synchronization operations for time synchronization in TSN.
