RECOM launched a new integrated box DC/DC power supply for application in the field of electric vehicles. With the push for zero-emission mobility, battery-driven non-passenger-type specialty vehicles are the ideal solution, which require DC/DC power to generate an isolated auxiliary power rail from the power battery. The new cost-effective and compact RMOD500-W series is ideal for this application and can be installed in any unprotected location of the vehicle thanks to its IP67 rating, fully sealed against moisture and dust.
The RMOD500-W product family provides 500W rated power with an input range of 32-96V, covering nominal 48V, 60V, 72V and 80V battery voltages. The available outputs are: 13.7V, 13V, 12.4V, 11.7V, 24.5V and 23.5V, which can be used in higher power applications by paralleling. Certified isolation voltages up to 2.25kVDC, operating temperature range -40°C to 90°C.
The RMOD500-W series is designed to be plug-and-play, chassis-mounted via standard connection devices, and measures 198 x 113 x 45mm (including connectors). Multiple protection features ensure product robustness, including input reverse polarity protection, undervoltage, overtemperature, output overcurrent/short circuit, and output overvoltage protection. This series meets the requirements of EMC, radiation, shock/vibration, thermal shock/temperature cycling, salt spray, water and dust resistance and safety standards.
