Qorvo QPF4656 and QPF4730 Wi-Fi 6/6E (802.11ax) front-end module (FEM). These FEMs fully exploit the potential of Wi-Fi 6E spectrum, and their efficiency is up to 25% higher than that of current competitors. Their small size and integrated matching capabilities help to minimize floor area while providing significant advantages in terms of cost, size and heat dissipation.
Both FEM models are equipped with a single-pole double-throw switch (SP2T) and a by-pass low-noise amplifier (LNA), and use either 5.945GHz to 7.125GHz power amplifier (QPF4656) or 5.1GHz to 7.125GHz power amplifier (QPF4730). These FEM's transmit (Tx) gain values range from 30dB to 32dB, receive (Rx) gain values range from 14.5dB, and noise factor is 2dB.
These FEM can achieve low power consumption while still maintaining the high linear power output and high throughput of Wi-Fi 6E with the maximum power level of extended bandwidth. With this broadband performance, QPF4656 can run in all channels of UNII5-8 (5.9GHz -- 7.1GHz), and QPF4730 can also run in all channels of UNII1-8 (5.1GHz -- 7.1GHz) without any logical switching. They are also equipped with bare-chip level filtering for second and third harmonics, 2.4GHz suppression for DBDC operations, and voltage detectors for application feedback. QPF4632 also comes with a coupler RF power detector. These FEM applications cover access points, residential gateways, customer field devices, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
