Semtech Corporation, a provider of high-performance semiconductors, Internet of Things systems and cloud connectivity services, announced the launch of LoRa Connect LR1121, a new transceiver for Internet of Things endpoints that offers lower power consumption, global connectivity and long-distance communication, extending its market-leading LoRa portfolio. LoRa's innovative solution implementation continues to grow rapidly as the Internet of Things continues to expand.

LoRa enables long-distance data communication with very little power consumption. LoRa devices and the LoRaWAN standard are flexible and suitable for both remote rural environments and indoor applications. They are also applicable to a variety of industries, including smart city, smart home, smart building, smart community, smart agriculture, smart metering and utilities, smart healthcare, smart environment, smart supply chain and logistics, etc.

The new LoRa Connect LR1121 brings the best LoRa transceiver RF performance to date, with multi-band, multi-functionality, allowing the use of a single low-power chip anywhere in the world. It is compatible with current LoRa Edge device pins, allowing module manufacturers such as Murata to use a single hardware design in a wide variety of applications and provide global connectivity. Similarly, vendors such as Johnson Technologies can easily integrate passive components with LoRa Connect LR1121 to provide a smaller footprint, shorten time to market, and minimize design iterations.

The highly integrated LoRa Connect LR1121 transceiver provides LoRaWAN connectivity for terrestrial low-power Wide area networks (LPWAN) operating at 470MHz, 868MHz, and 915MHz; It also supports LoRa 2.4GHz and the S-band for direct satellite connections. Semtech's LoRa Connect is designed to address the connectivity challenges facing the industry today, helping achieve widespread adoption of LoRa solutions and solidifying LoRa's position as a de facto iot platform. We will continue to invest in improving LoRa technology and enriching our portfolio with multi-band LoRa support and LoRa Cloud to deliver best-in-class, sustainable and ubiquitous global Internet of Things connectivity.
