TT Electronics has released the LRMAP4026 series of low resistance metal alloy power resistors for power, motor drive and battery monitoring applications. The range of resistors offers four-terminal Kelvin accuracy and high current capacity for all industrial applications including automotive. Due to the improved accuracy of the four-terminal Kelvin connection, only a fraction of the design error budget is consumed, facilitating greater design freedom elsewhere in the circuit. Gull-wing design provides distance from PCB, which minimizes board temperature rise and improves component reliability.

"The E-beam welded SMT shunt LRMAP4026 is the latest addition to TT's growing AEC-Q200 certified SMT current sensing resistor portfolio," said Brian Stephenson, ENGINEERING Director, TT Electronics. "This new series helps our customers achieve accurate and stable current measurements, providing resilience to surges while controlling heat entering PCB tracks."

It delivers up to 5W of power in the 4026 package. These resistors offer seven values from 0.2 to 3mOhm, giving designers a high degree of flexibility in rugged components, offering a wide temperature range of -65c to +170C, ideal for demanding applications. The four-terminal design allows complete separation of current path and voltage detection -- reducing the difference between uninstalled and installed resistors and TCR values, a typical problem for two-terminal types.

The product has a 1% tolerance and 50ppm/C TCR with high mixing accuracy and high surge capability of metal alloy technology. Its high surge tolerance ensures reliable performance under surge and instantaneous short circuit conditions.
