Infineon Technologies Inc. has launched a new battery management IC series, including TLE9012DQU and TLE9015DQU. Integrated circuits provide an optimized solution for battery monitoring and balancing. Combining excellent measurement performance with excellent application robustness, the new BATTERY management IC is a competitive system-level solution for battery module, battery to battery pack, and battery to vehicle battery topology. The device is suitable for a wide range of industrial, consumer and automotive applications such as MHEV, HEV, PHEV and BEV. Further applications include energy storage systems and battery management systems for two - and three-wheel electric vehicles.
Finn Felsberg, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Automotive Power Integration and Supply, Infineon said:”"With the TLE9012DQU and TLE9015DQU, Infineon has achieved an important milestone and completed the supply of its battery management system," "Customers benefit from the interoperability of Infineon's components as well as the broad software offering. Development efforts can thus be minimized and time-to-market shortened."
Due to complex device drivers, these products are optimized to work with the AURIX microcontroller family and functionally safe power management ICs. This provides a complete solution for voltage and temperature sensing, balancing and communication of various battery solutions. In addition, new battery management ICs are available for safety-relevant applications: automotive BMS solutions meet the safety requirements of ASIL-D and comply with the ISO26262 standard.
TLE9015DQU is a battery monitoring transceiver IC for connecting several TLE9012DQU devices in a Daisy chain within a lithium ion battery. The device supports ring communication with its two UART and ISO-UART interface pairs, increasing the cost effectiveness of the system.
The module also allows two-way information flow by combining an error snap-in, including several inputs and outputs programmable on each TLE9012DQU.
