Microchip Technology's ATWINC3400 is an IEEE 802.11 b/g/n and BLE4.0 Internet of Things (IoT) network controller SoC. It is an ideal additional design for existing MCU solutions to add Wi Fi and Bluetooth low power (BLE) network functions. The module communicates via UART or SPI to Wi Fi interface. ATWINC3400 is connected to any microchip PIC or SAM MCU with minimum resource requirements.
The most advanced mode of ATWINC3400 is the single stream 1x1 802.11n mode, which provides PHY throughput up to 72 Mbps. ATWIN3400 has fully integrated power amplifier, LNA, switch and power management. It also has an integrated flash memory of MCU and system software, and built-in coexistence mechanism of concurrent Wi Fi and BLE functions. The only external clock source required by ATWINC3400 is a high-speed crystal or oscillator with various reference clock frequencies. ATWINC3400 can be packaged in a QFN IC as well.
