Microchip has announced the expansion of its MTCH10x mTouch sensing product family with a turnkey MTCH102-5-8 capacitive touch controller. In hardware-only configurations, 2-, 5-, and 8-channel controllers replace mechanical buttons with simple digital outputs, making it easy to add proximity and touch detection to any application that is limited by size, power, or cost. In order to achieve high reliability and more sensitive touch performance (including operation through gloves), the MTCH102-5-8 capacitive touch controller is equipped with an advanced multi-stage noise filtering algorithm. The MTCH102-5-8 controller supports touch sensors of various shapes and sizes, has automatic compensation for environmental conditions, and provides reliable operation in the presence of water. In addition, active protection improves the sensitivity of proximity sensing, and the electronics design is rugged, even if the circuit board of the touch sensor is long. The MTCH102-5-8 low-power touch controller creates a powerful, ready-to-use touch solution that can serve the rapid growth of capacitive human-machine interfaces in industrial applications such as light switches; home automation products, including security Control panels, thermostats and lighting controls; office equipment such as printers, copiers and fax machines; consumer products, including toys, white goods and household appliances; except for applications in other markets. To enable easy evaluation and configuration of the capacitive touch interface, Microchip's new compact DM160229 demo board supports MTCH102-5-8. New MTCH102 mTouch sensing, low power, two-channel capacitive touch controller in MSOP or uDFN package, MTCH105 low power, five-channel capacitive touch controller in QFN or TSSOP package, and MTCH108 low power, eight-channel capacitor The touch controller is packaged in uQFN or SSOP. Samples and mass production are available now.
