Microchip has released the highly integrated LoRa SiP family of products, including ultra-low-power 32-bit MCUs, sub-GHz RF LoRa transceivers, and software stacks. The combination of remote wireless connectivity and low-power performance is designed to accelerate the development of LoRa-based connectivity solutions. SAM R34 / 35 SiP is supported by certified reference designs and has proven interoperability with major LoRaWAN gateways and network providers, simplifying the entire development process with software, hardware and support. These devices also provide the industry's lowest power consumption in sleep mode, thereby extending the battery life of remote IoT nodes. Most LoRa terminal devices will stay in sleep mode for a long time and only wake up occasionally to transmit small data packets. The SAM R34 device is driven by an MCU based on the ultra-low-power SAM L21 Arm Cortex-M0 +, which provides sleep modes as low as 790nA to reduce power consumption and extend battery life in end applications. The SAM R34 / 35 series is highly integrated into a compact 6mm x 6mm package, making it ideal for a variety of remote, low-power IoT applications that require a small size design and many years of battery life. The company's LoRa series offers six device variants, giving developers the flexibility to choose the best combination of memory and peripherals for the end application. The SAM R34 device is available in a 64-pin TFBGA package, while the SAM R35 device does not have a USB interface.
