SiTime has announced the launch of SiT9396/7, a new family of automotive oscillators based on SiTime's advanced MEMS technology. With a 10-fold increase in elasticity, this new differential MEMS oscillator ensures reliable operation of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) in extreme road conditions and temperatures. The introduction of the new automotive oscillator, the AEC-Q100 SiT9396/7, expands the total target market for SiTime services by $50 million.
Market research shows that the ADAS market for radar, cameras, LiDAR, as well as computing is rapidly developing and the related market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 13.2% from USD 15.4 billion in 2022 to USD 28.6 billion in 2027.As automotive safety systems integrate more and more sensors and cameras, the huge amounts of data they generate are crucial for safe, autonomous operation. According to the Automotive Edge Computing Consortium, a car today generates 2 terabytes of data per hour, a figure that will expand tenfold to 20 terabytes by 2025.
Data from these ADAS sensors must be transmitted across the vehicle network at extremely high speeds, even in the most demanding driving environments, so that ADAS computers can make timely decisions for safe and reliable operation.

SiTime's new SiT9396/7 precision clock solution, based on resilient and reliable silicon MEMS technology, is specifically designed to operate in extreme conditions, ensuring the reliable operation of ADAS computers, domain/area controllers, radars and liDAR systems.
