     Lane Electronics now offers the new FIBERFOX Expanded Beam Fiber Optic Connectors from NEUTRIK. The connector can be installed back and forth, and the connector eliminates the need for adapters and mating female and male halves. These connectors were developed to meet the requirements of the MILDTL-83526 specification, operate in harsh environments, and use IP68 sealed non-physical contact fiber terminations behind an anti-reflection coated sphere. And the system is available in dual and quad channel variants with configurations compatible with other configurations and other MIL-DTL-83526 specified systems.

     The lens expands the beam many times its original size to assist with optical alignment and minimize the effects of dust, debris and other environmental conditions. Expanded beam fiber optic connectivity is excellent in wet, dirty, dusty, hot and cold environments.

     Effective maintenance-free, unlimited theoretical life, can withstand more than 10,000 mating cycles, no maintenance or insertion loss, only clean water and a lint-free cloth can be cleaned. IP68 certified waterproof to a depth of 6 meters, the connector provides a screw lock mechanism. The chassis-mounted connector version fits an industry standard cut-off, and a standard LC patch cable can be plugged into the back.

      The device is an hermaphrodite connector that allows the combination of multiple plug-to-plug cable assemblies to extend the length of the system, and the connector can be used for two or four channel multi-mode lenses. In addition to standard plugs, FIBERFOX bridged sockets are ideal for standard LC jumpers and serve as unique LC to beam extenders.

       Applications for connectors include communications, lighting, networking, public address systems, video, broadcast and AV in the defense, industrial, mining, medical, security, rail, sensing, oil and gas industries.
