Diodes Incorporated offers the first AEC-Q100 Class 1 LDO linear regulator. The AP7315Q and AP7343Q generate currents of 150mA and 300mA respectively, making them ideal for any automotive application that requires stringent voltage regulation under operating conditions, such as point-of-load power supplies used in ADAS, infotainment systems, RF communications, and cameras. Automakers are incorporating growing ADAS into sensors and other sensitive circuits that require highly stable power supplies. These linear regulators have full PPAP functionality and can be used in automotive applications that require products to be AEC-Q100 qualified and have a Class 1 (-40C to + 125C) temperature rating. This device provides a useful alternative to switching regulators in extremely demanding automotive applications. In addition to current limit and short-circuit protection, the LDO also highlights an enable input that enables the linear regulator to shut down when it is not needed. In use, the quiescent current provided by the regulator is only 35μA. Both devices are available (AP7315DQ / 43DQ) and not provided (AP7315Q / 43Q). This is the output capacitor discharge function, which usually needs to protect sensitive loads such as CMOS image sensors during shutdown.
