The LTC2992 is a rail-to-rail system monitor that measures the current, voltage, and power of two power sources. It operates in a range of 2.7V to 100V and includes a shunt regulator for power supplies above 100V. The voltage range from 0V to 100V is independent of the input power supply. Two ADCs simultaneously measure the current of each power source. A third ADC monitors the input voltage and four auxiliary external voltages.
Typical application
The current and power of each supply is added to the total system consumption. Minimum and maximum values are stored, and overrange alerts are programmable thresholds to minimize the need for software polling. Data is reported through the standard I2C interface. Shutdown mode typically reduces current consumption to 25μA.

The LTC2992 I2C interface includes separate data input and output pins for standard or optically isolated I2C connections. The LTC2992-1 has inverted data output for inverted optical isolator configuration.
