Analog Devices HMC8412 Low Noise Amplifier, 0.4 GHz to 11 GHz

Technology Cover
Data di Pubblicazione: 2022-11-09, Analog Devices Inc.

The HMC8412 of Analog Devices is a gallium arsenide (GaAs), a monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC), a pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistor (pHEMT), and a low noise broadband amplifier with operating frequencies ranging from 0.4 GHz to 11 GHz. The internal HMC8412 also has input and output matching 50 ohms, making the device suitable for surface mount technology (SMT) high-capacity microwave radio applications.

The HMC8412 provides a typical gain of 15.5 dB, a typical noise value of 1.4 dB, and a typical output third order intercept (OIP3) of ≤ 33 dBm. It only requires 60 mA to supply power from the 5 V drain. The typical saturation output power (PSAT) ≤ 20.5 dBm, which enables the low noise amplifier (LNA) to be used as a local oscillator (LO) driver for many analog devices, including balanced, in-phase, quadrature (I/Q) or image suppression mixers. HMC8412 packaged in a rohs compatible, 2mm × 2mm, 6-pin LFCSP.

HMC8412 improves the noise of the whole system. The noise coefficient=1.4 dB, improves the linearity of the whole system. The output third order intercept (OIP3)=≤ 33 dBm. It occupies a small area, and the packaging size is 2 mm × 2mm, 5mm higher than previous generation × 5mm packaging saves overall board space
