Analog Devices ADM2795E transceiver is a 5kVrms signal isolated RS-485 transceiver. The transceiver provides AC / DC peak bus overvoltage fault protection up to ± 42V on the RS-485 bus pins. The transceiver was created using iCoupler technology, combining a three-channel isolator, RS-485 transceiver, and IEC EMC transient protection in a single package.
These transceivers provide IEC 61000-4-5 level 4 surge protection, which provides protection up to ± 4kV on the RS-485 bus pins. This device has IEC 61000-4-4 Level 4 EFT protection and IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4 ESD protection up to ± 2kV on the bus pins. This protection enables the transceiver to withstand voltages up to ± 15kV on the transceiver interface pins without blocking.
The device's extended common-mode input range is ± 25V, which improves data communication reliability in noisy environments. The transceiver operates over a wide range of power supplies using a 1.7V to 5.5V VDD1 power supply range. This allows the transceiver to interface with low-voltage logic power. When using a 3V to 5.5V VDD2 power supply, the transceiver is fully compliant with the TIA / EIA RS-485 / RS-422 standards.
