ADI's ADSP-BF706 EZ-KIT Mini evaluation board can help develop and test a 32-bit, 400 MHz ADSP BF706 Blackfin DSP, which provides 800 MMACS processing power at less than 100mW. The mini evaluation board contains all communication interfaces and external connections required for DSP audio application design, including Arduino compatible interfaces. The evaluation board provides a complete, small, low-cost entry platform for evaluating the ADSP BF706 Blackfin DSP processor. The kit has on-board, high-quality audio I / O, 1,160 KB of on-chip SRAM, 4 MB of quad SPI flash, and connections for EPPI0, SPORT, SPI, I2C, and general-purpose I / O (GPIO). The USB bus-powered board also has an on-board JTAG / SWD debug port and an ADAU1761 SigmaDSP (r) low-power stereo audio codec provided through a separate USB interface. The ADSP-BF706 EZ-KIT board can also be installed with a 0.1-inch stackable plug for use with an Arduino-compatible shield interface that conforms to the Arduino Uno R3 shield interface. When used with Analog Devices' CrossCore Embedded Studio (CCES), the ADSP BF706 EZ-KIT provides advanced application code development and real-time debugging capabilities. The CCES development environment allows designers to create, compile, assemble and link applications written in C, C ++ and assembly code. The software package also includes DSP Concepts' graphics-based Audio Weaver software tool, which provides a full-featured library of audio modules and has efficient code generation and performance analysis capabilities. The company said the mini evaluation board and ADSP-BF706 Blackfin processor are targeted at power-sensitive embedded applications, from portable audio to sound processing and effects.
