AVX has released a new series of high temperature wet electrolytic tantalum capacitors. The new TWA-X series is designed for use at 230C, provides a high-capacitance cathode system, has high CV performance in standard case sizes, and has a sealed welded tantalum can and plug assembly with strong resistance to mechanical Ability to shock and high frequency vibration. These capacitors are also well suited for defense, industrial, aerospace, and oil drilling equipment. They have also been mechanically tested in accordance with MIL-STD-202 and have high capacitance and long duration, running at 230C for 500 hours up to 400μF. These devices are available in DSCC case size T4 (AVX case size "E") and two initial ratings: 400μF / 100V and 330μF / 125V.
"Our new TWA-X series offers high temperature versions of conventional wet electrolytic tantalum capacitors, which are especially suitable for use in oil drilling and other high temperature, harsh environment applications," said Mitch Weaver, AVX.
