AVX has released a new SpiCAT online simulation tool. New simulation software created based on user needs provides access to two separate portals – SpiMLCC and SpiTAN, which replace SpiCap III and SpiTan IV – a wide range of multilayer ceramic or tantalum, polymer, and niobium oxide by frequency and temperature Surface mount capacitor. The new software also simplifies the selection of capacitors, groups different product families through common application functions, and enables design engineers to view the electrical characteristics of each part number based on temperature and frequency to support simple, fast, accurate parameter characterization and fast Identify. Capacitor solutions are well suited to their respective application needs.
The updated software also provides enhanced features. Once a part is selected, the interactive graphics allow the user to identify the effects of modified frequency and temperature on parameters including capacitance, impedance, ESR, DF, ripple voltage, and ripple current. The program also enables users to enter application voltage and temperature information to chart the DCL over time and provides an equivalent circuit diagram with characteristics of each parameter. Other new features allow users to download case-sized 3D models, print out graphics and parameters of selected part numbers, and check inventory in distributor inventory.
AVX technician Mitch Weaver said: "AVX has been working hard to improve the customer experience, and our newly designed SpiCAT simulation software does exactly this." "We can share the fast response, the new SpiCAT software and for various surface mount MLCC, tantalum, polymers and niobium oxide are proud to provide fast, easy, and accurate parameter characterization while better supporting customers' design procedures.
