Amritech is working with Toyota to develop the world's first 5G OTA*1 RF test system and is investing in the MVG*2 OTA test environment using Amritech's radio communication test station MT8000A.

Autonomous driving requires simultaneous communication with the surrounding environment and other vehicles, networks, road infrastructure, etc. In particular, 5G, which supports large capacity, low latency and mass connectivity, is a key technology for transmitting massive data generated by multiple sensors such as vehicle cameras and 3D high-definition map data. As a result, automakers and Telematics Unit suppliers are racing to develop 5G products.

The 5G communication products developed are installed in cars called "connected cars." However, the communication performance of connected vehicles needs to be tested and verified in an OTA environment as close to the real world as possible before release.

Currently, Amritech, in cooperation with Microwave Vision Group, provides MT8000A and OTA system to Toyota as the world's first 5G vehicle OTA RF test system.

"To provide an all-vehicle OTA test solution that meets current and future vehicle testing needs, we need to integrate radio communication test systems that support 5G frequencies. We believe that combining MVG's OTA test environment with Anritsu's MT8000A is the right combination to meet future connected vehicle testing needs.
